Little Bean

This is Georgia. A Taurus, born in the year of the Dragon.

Becoming a mother stirred something deep in me—memories of my own childhood stories, friendships, and the cozy rituals of home. From an early age, my world has been filled with vibrant colors and many, many books.

My mother, Denise, ran a bookstore in São Paulo called Klaxon. She’s always been deeply passionate about literature and poetry. No matter how long the day, she made time to read us a story at bedtime—and then another, and just one more.

During my pregnancy, I found myself revisiting the books I once loved. One day, while browsing a thrift store in Vancouver, I stumbled upon The Napping House by Audrey and Don Wood—a childhood favorite. I bought it on the spot. That moment sparked the idea of building a little library for our bebê.

Over the next eight months, Georgia’s bookshelf slowly came to life. For our baby shower, we invited friends and family to gift a beloved children’s book. Each one carries a story—not just inside its pages, but in the memory of who gave it and why. These stories will travel with her, weaving through her lifetime.

I started this blog for two reasons:
To share the beautiful, diverse world of children’s literature—and to keep my own love for storytelling alive as I grow into motherhood.

Here you’ll find books that light up Georgia’s shelves, along with new discoveries from around the world. Thank you for being here. I hope you’ll join us on this journey through stories.
